CREATE A FAKE VIRUS TO TEST ANTI-VIRUS

CREATE A VIRUS FOR TEST AND ENSURE THAT YOUR ANTIVIRUS WORKS..

First we need to open notepad. Click on ?Start?, then click ?Run?. Type notepad and then click the ?OK? button. This will bring up Microsoft Notepad
Within Notepad, type the following line? or copy and pastefrom here?

Now click the file menu and select?SAVE AS?
Click the drop down menu entitled ?Save as Type:? and set it to ?ALL FILES?
Click in the File name field and type in EICAR.com
This will save the file as EICAR.COM
Then Click ?SAVE?
Immediately after i saved the file, I got my Antivirus notification saying that it quarantined the test file? just like it was supposed to have done. To find out more about this test file fromSYMANTEC themselves, please follow the links provided?.
